About the Author:

Stephen Custer currently lives in Las Vegas where he practices applied probability theory at the blackjack and poker tables along the Strip.

He was born and raised in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, and earned a Bachelors degree in mathematics from Randolph-Macon College in Virginia, a Masters, also in math, from the University of South Carolina, and a Ph.D. in statistics from Virginia Tech.

He held management and executive positions at IBM and Xerox, and taught in business schools at Canisius College in Buffalo, the University of Rochester and Niagara University. He created and ran a newsletter company and a consulting company, both in Rochester, New York, and served on the Board of Directors of a major corporation as well as numerous professional and social organizations. He is listed in Oxford’s Who Who Registry of Professionals and Strathmore’s Who Who.
